Nine women in their thirties recount how they started to better manage their finances by spending money wisely. These women have realized that spending one's money requires a sense of commitment as well as a sense of knowing that one should control one's own finances and not the other way around.

Women used to earn 59 cents for every dollar that men earned, but their earnings have risen so that they earn 74 cents for every dollar. Women's incomes increased an average of 22.5% more than the cost of living during 1980-90, compared to 2% for men's incomes.
