Dith Pran and Haing Ngor shared the experiences of escaping from prosecution by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. Ngor portrayed Pran in the film 'The Killing Fields,' and they became friends. Ngor was killed in a robbery, but Pran is continuing their mission to expose the Khmer Rouge.
