Women's abilities to maintain loving relationships and to create supportive networks of friends and relatives protect them from feelings of worthlessness that can lead to suicide. Men are less likely than women to suffer from depression, but more likely to commit suicide.

Researchers at the University of New South Wales in Australia have concluded that men may suffer from severe headaches during sex. Causes of coital headaches are still unknown. Treatment with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents is effective.

Researchers at the Common Cold Unit in Salisbury, England, exposed 400 participants to one of five cold viruses. People who experience high levels of stress developed colds more often than people who reported low stress levels.
