Article Abstract:
Four cases where Americans have been found guilty of violating laws and have, in turn, complained about these government regulations are presented. Two of these involve a landowner charged with violating a wetlands provision of the Clean Water Act and a restaurateur accused of violating the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

Several Americans have seen for themselves the adverse effects of government regulation on their lives. In reaction, the House of Representatives moved to restrict government's regulatory powers. The Senate failed to follow the House's example by rejecting a measure to curtail government regulation.
