Nation of deadbeats?
Article Abstract:
A growing number of people are declaring personal bankruptcy, using the nation's court system to get rid of their debts. Debtors can choose between a plan which requires a $175 court fee and a list of all assets and liabilities and another wherein debtors pay a portion of their debts but retain their assets. The rise in bankruptcies is attributed to the proliferation of credit cards, attorney advertising and loss of shame.
