Organizing your neighborhood for Y2K: adapting the Boulder model
Article Abstract:
Individual citizens can initiate Y2K preparedness in their communities by sharing their ideas on the issue with their neighbors. They may spread their concerns to other community members through distribution of leaflets. An informal party may serve as a vehicle for creating task-specific committees.

What one town can do

A community in Medford, OR, demonstrated their concern for the possible impact of the Y2K computer bug by organizing a public seminar on the issue. The large number of attendees to the seminar heavily contrasted with the meager interest displayed by media people and politicians on the issue.
