Public subsidies for sport stadiums
Article Abstract:
Washington D.C. Mayor, Anthony A. Williams, supports the building of professional sports stadiums in Washington, as it would bring new development in the city, create jobs and contracting opportunities for residents and businesses. Director of government affairs for the National Taxpayers Union, Paul J. Gessing, feels that instead of forcing taxpayers to fund professional sports stadiums, cities would be better off directing taxpayers dollars to maintaining basic services in the city.
