The American Legion Children's Home in Ponka, OK, was founded in the 1920s to care for orphans and children of injured veterans. In recent years, it has been taking in court-committed children who were neglected and physically abused by their own parents. The home constantly needs funds.

Standing duty for the folks at home

The American Legion has assisted American military servicemen and their dependents at home during the Persian Gulf war. It provided financial assistance to destitute dependents and has visited the troops and provided them with services through its Family Support Network.
