Ransacking our libraries: are books and card catalogs really obsolete?

Card catalogs are still essential in effective library management, despite the advent of electronic data processing systems. Card catalogs can serve as guidelines to compensate for mistakes in encoding library data. They can also help library users narrow down topics which they are researching.

The peace settlement negotiated in El Salvador on Dec 31 1991 was the first negotiated compromise between revolutionaries and government forces. The accords are also unusual in that they include social reforms and not just an end to military confrontation.
