Ratify law of the Sea Treaty
Article Abstract:
A serving U.S. Naval chief and a retired U.S. Army captain voice their opinions in support and opposition of ratifying Law of the Sea Treaty respectively. The naval chief feels that the law would fortify the use of the maritime domain and increase the Navy's effectiveness as an instrument of national policy, while the captain feels that the law would probably entangle the U.S. government in international regimes that weaken its leadership capability and empower international organizations that don't share its values or interests.

Force levels must match military commitments
Article Abstract:
An increase in the force levels of the US Army or a curtailing of worldwide commitments is suggested to avoid wearing out troops and material. More reserve components are being activated for extended periods of time due to the over-commitment of active forces.
