Sheep grower John Shuler killed a grizzly bear that had been preying on his flock in 1989. A year after, he was fined $7,000 for violating the Endangered Species Act. He contested the fine and an administrative law judge lowered the fine to $4,000. After continued appeals, he was finally fined $5,000.

The continued insistence of some people that unidentified flying objects are of extraterrestrial origin has been debunked by the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal. Despite the committee's findings, UFO sightings and abductions are still reported.
