Barbara Neal, mother of Craig Neal, with the intention to help her son by creating salons, got in touch with the people who were in close vicinity of Utne and who would probably become salonistas in that locality. The motive to start salon was to have simple discussions but it led to political conversations and soon the salon developed into a group.
