Shocks for the heart
Article Abstract:
Defibrillators are battery powered surgical devices implanted into the abdomen of patients suffering from irregular heart rhythms. They slow down racing heartbeats and detect arrhythmias. Studies show that these devices give heart patients a 60% survival rate and forecasts say number of implants will soar.

98.6 - and falling
Article Abstract:
Research on body temperature has modified the normal mean, from 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit to 98.2 degrees. The normal range for 148 adults in the research was 96 degrees to 99.9 degrees. However, this negligible difference will not warrant any change in medical practices.
