Technology and commerce have changed the atmosphere and life in the old towns and villages in the US, despite efforts to save them by some people. Many beautiful small towns have been imperiled by the emergence of electronic appliances, cars and newcomers, but still, some continue to pursue a revival of the old times.

The Mohawk Trail: life in the slow lane

The two-lane Mohawk Trail remains the last functioning pre-World War I motor road in the United States. Also known as Route 2, the road stretches from Greenfield to Williamstown in Massachusetts. It was formally opened on October 22, 1914.
