Blackflies, which are tiny bugs that bite, can be irritating and disturbing when gardening. It is often hard to get rid of them, since they are persistent even with wood smoke and hats with nets. However, since they are late sleepers, gardeners can avoid them by gardening early in the morning.

The rain barrel
Article Abstract:
A gardener proves that a rain barrel is an effective method of watering the garden. It is a big plastic barrel for holding about 75 gallons of rain water. Moreover, the least efficient way of keeping the garden watered is to actually water the garden, that is, aim the hose at the garden.
