The Super Bowl began in 1967 and has become the most popular sports event in the US. It sells out in spite of ticket prices of $175 or more, and attracts 750 million TV viewers around the world. Highlights from its history include Joe Montana's 1989 touchdown pass in the last seconds of the game.

Will Rogers: the cowboy philosopher

Rogers began his cowboy act at the 1904 World's Fair and soon became a big hit, mixing cowboy stunts with humor and quips that earned him the nickname 'The Cowboy Philosopher.' He also became a columnist and had a radio show that lightened the lives of many during the Great Depression.
