The acid test for skin: alpha-hydroxy acids are being touted as the Retin-A of the '90s
Article Abstract:
Alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) are being used in skin creams to treat wrinkles and pigmentation problems. Most over-the-counter products contain less than 10% of the acid and sell from $7 to $125. AHAs have less side-effects than Retin-A, but higher concentrations can cause burns.
