The controversy surrounding death-row convict and ex-radio broadcast journalist Mumia Abu-Jamal is described. He was sentenced to death in 1982 after allegedly killing Police Officer Daniel Faulkner. Jamal's supporters say that his conviction was politically motivated because of his campaign against police brutality and misconduct.
