The change in seasons provides gardeners with a time table for planting vegetables as well as a time for rest from chores. Sowing seeds in the fall is generally not a fruitful endeavor, but sometimes gardeners are rewarded with bright greens in spring for their efforts.

The perennial called the bleeding heart was discovered by one flower fancier when she sought a plant that did not need direct sunlight. Only upon flowering did she realize how beautiful they are, and now their early June bloom makes them the stars of her garden.
