Article Abstract:
The alcohol addiction has four main reasons namely, craving, loss of control, physical dependence, and tolerance and the problem costs America nearly $185 billion and estimated death of 100,000 people. A lot of research is carried out to erase the habit of drinking from the genes of the person with the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) identifying the genes that help determine how one responds to alcohol.

Diabetes and other diseases including high blood pressure and heart disease caused by lack of exercise can be prevented by activities such as walking, jogging, light aerobics or swimming, combined with a healthy diet. A long brisk walk can strengthen and condition the body to the same extent as jogging and other strenuous aerobic exercises.

An estimated $11 billion is spent annually in the US to treat weight-related problems in those with severe obesity, known to increase heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and arthritis. Various factors contributing to obesity and some guidelines to prevent it are provided.
