In Nov 1934 a 13-year-old American boy living in Japan with his father was introduced to Connie Mack, who was managing a team of touring US baseball stars. Not long after the introduction the boy found himself in the back of a limousine sitting next to Babe Ruth, waving to thousands of Japanese fans.

The impossible nightmare

A Boston Red Sox fan describes that infamous day, Oct 25, 1986, when the Sox played Game 6 of the World Series with a 3-2 lead in games. He had gotten married that day, and when the Sox lost in the tenth inning after having a two-run lead with two outs, it made for a less than blissful wedding night.

A 93-year-old baseball fan recounts that he attended his first Boston Red Sox game as a 13-month-old baby in the arms of his father. He says that as a boy his favorite players were Harry Hooper and Tris Speaker, who his father felt was better than Ty Cobb.
