The perma parent trap

Permaparents are the ones who welcome their adult children into their homes and support them financially and emotionally, but it is believed that such parents obstruct their children's adult independence and hamper their postparenting lives. Many psychologists believe that the postparenting period is one in which people have the opportunity to develop new identities to relocate, change a career, and become more involved in the community.

Not depressed, just British!
Article Abstract:
The experience of a British man living in America who had to undergo treatment as he was diagnosed as clinically depressed is described. Identifying the person as British changed the diagnosis of clinical depression to rather quaint and charming and was immediately discharged for the hospital.
