Trapped on the St. John

Four loggers valiantly trying to rescue each other from the icy waters of the St. John River is fodder to one's dramatic sense. The four men, who were on their usual routine of dismantling the bridge spanning the river to avoid the raging waters of springtime, suddenly found the wood-and-steel structure snapping. Thereon the drama starts.

Prisoner of Saddam

A female flight surgeon is taken prisoner by Saddam Hussein's Republican Guard after her helicopter is shot down in Iraqi territory. Detained with a male subordinate, they learn that fellowship, trust and concern for each other are not particular to male soldiers serving together.

Prisoner of the ice
Article Abstract:
A logging bridge is destroyed when ice on Maine's St. John River violently breaks up. One logger is killed in the mishap, and another, Raymond Bourgault, is trapped on the floe. He is saved by the heroic efforts of fellow loggers Donat Pelletier and Etienne Avoine.
