Trapped under a train

Eleven-year-old Atonina Tavite fell from her bike and was trapped under a train that failed to stop on time. Aaron Te Aonui accompanied Atonina and calmed her down while they waited for the ambulance to arrive. Atonina survived but her right leg had to be amputated.

Aman recalls his encounter with baseball legend Babe Ruth, for whom he caddied when Ruth visited Poland Springs, ME, in 1940. Ruth tipped the awestruck lad the huge 1940 sum of $5, and winked at him when he saw him an hour later at a baseball field.
