Lieutenant Commander Waldo Brown and cadet Ellsworth Benson were killed when the US Navy biplanes they were piloting crashed in midair over East Braintree, MA, on Apr 3, 1939. The families of both men blamed each other for the crash, though a Navy report on the incident was inconclusive.
