Warning: antibiotics could endanger your child
Article Abstract:
Antibiotics are still the most effective weapon against disease-causing bacteria. However, their overuse or misuse leads to an increased risk of multidrug-resistant infection, particularly among children who get sick more often than anyone else. Ways on how to prevent this risk are presented.

The risks of surgery-related infection may be decreased by administering antibiotics one or two hours prior to surgery. A study of 2,847 surgery patients showed that infection is six times more likely to occur when antibiotics are given more than two hours before or after surgery.
