Christopher Columbus is popularly regarded as the discoverer of the Americas although some historians give others the credit. Among such contenders to the title are the Japanese, Chinese, Jews, Welsh and Norsemen. Columbus, however, rests secure in his place in history as the harbinger of good news: America is a land ripe for settlement.

Little town that saved itself
Article Abstract:
Viroqua, WI, was a small American town whose businesses started to crumble. The townfolks decided to act together and save their town by doing several activities such as joining the National Trust for Historic Preservation's 'Main Street' program which they eventually won.
