Efficiency measurement in network industries: application to the Swiss railway companies
Article Abstract:
Switzerland's railroads receive substantial amount of government subsidies, prompting the government to contemplate cost efficiency regulatory measures. However, there are many factors, which could distort the efficiency estimates. A method of using multiple data models for measuring cost efficiency of network industries like the Switzerland's railroads is presented.
