Decentralized welfare: will there be underprovision?

This article examines how state size and the migration elasticity of welfare recipients effects the degree of benefits. A model is developed to consider welfare underprovision and to raise concern about decentralized control over welfare.

Intra-urban wage variation, employment location, and commuting times

This article examines the impact commute times have on employee wages in metropolitan areas. The authors, maintaining theory predicts the more difficult the commute the higher the wages, argue wage variations are dependent upon average travel times in various zones.
