Roderick Hickman is the first former correctional officer to reach the pinnacle of his profession - secretary of the California Youth and Adult Correctional Agency, or YACA. His mission is to transform the current prison culture of mismanagement, mistrust and violence into one that better serves both the public and the prisoners.
