State budgets hurt by health care, housing crisis
Article Abstract:
State budgets are to face tighter conditions in 2008, according to a report from the National Governors Association and National Association of State Budget Officers. This is due to the demand for increased funding for health care and Medicaid. The crisis in the housing market is also affecting local governments as property tax revenues decrease.
