Taxes and the location of production: evidence from a panel of US multinationals
Article Abstract:
The effective average tax rate does represent an essential part in the locational decisions of multinational companies. According to the conceptual organization, marginal unit labor costs should be notable in ascertaining the level of output in a given location, while average unit labor costs should be important in location choice. The model was applied to US companies deciding whether and how to serve the European market.
