Gender and compensation in health care management
Article Abstract:
A survey shows that male health care administrators earned $16,000 more than their female counterparts in 1989. The discrepancy can be explained by the larger number of more experienced male administrators. Women administrators can earn more if they have more male mentors, a spouse who is willing to relocate to advance their career and an employer with family friendly policies.
