Hospital customizes software to achieve internal needs
Article Abstract:
Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, is customizing its computer software with its own internal information systems staff. The 746-bed hospital hopes to benefit from a computer system tailored to each user's specific needs. Customized software will allow better information to be obtained on the sources of patient referrals from doctors and other medical facilities. Customizing software will also increase the number of procedural and diagnostic codes used to obtain a better picture of patient care.
