Income related inequalities in mental health in Great Britain: analysing the causes of health inequality over time
Article Abstract:
The level of income related health inequality in Great Britain is calculated using some regression techniques that investigate which socio-democratic factors are important contributors to health differences. A relative deprivation measure is added to the test and it revealed that subjective financial status is a major determinant of ill-health and makes a major contribution to health inequalities.

Theories of justice and their implications for priority setting in health care
Article Abstract:
Utilitarianism, egalitarianism and maximin are distributive justice theories that explain the rationale behind priority setting regimes existing in the healthcare industry. The three theories indicate that priority setting in health care service is mainly dependent on variations in the potential health gains of individual and the variations in the degree of their severity. The Norwegian guidelines for priority setting in health care, meanwhile, establishes a more precise system that aims to address complications that may arise from the three theories such as the issue of degree of severity and capacity to benefit, which are tackled in the distributive theory.
