"Sister Rosalie" has Albuquerque abuzz about St. Joseph's Healthcare System

St. Joseph Healthcare System of Albuquerque, NM, hired advertising agency Rick Johnson & Company Inc. of Albuquerque, NM, to produce a new media branding campaign. The excellent results were unveiled in the market of Albuquerque, NM, in fall 1997. The campaign relied on outdoor, radio, television and newspaper spots built around the fictitious Sister Rosalie character. The agency relied on results of a 1997 community assessment study to determine its target audiences. Rick Johnson noted that the health care system needed to deliver the message to adults aged 35 years and above. The local chapter of the American Marketing Assocation granted the Marketer of the Year Award for health care to the hospital.

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian has launched a non-traditional campaign that focuses on various centers of excellence in health care. The campaign coupled bold straightforward messages with non-traditional imagery in newspaper, magazine, radio, direct mail and outdoor ads to position the 416-bed, acute-care not-for-profit hospital at the forefront of healthcare field. The campaign was developed by Buckley/Friedman Advertising and Public Relations of Costa Mesa, CA.
