Reducing staff turnover: a case study of dialysis facilities
Article Abstract:
The impact of social assistance both at home and at work on employee resignation patterns in outpatient dialysis facilities was examined, adjusting for sociodemographic and facility organizational aspects. A multivariate logistic study of 42 Texas dialysis facilities showed that younger, white, short tenure, and licensed vocational or practical nurse, with less social assistance at home and at work for emotional concerns, and less supervisor assistance substantially increased the possibility of turnover.

Best practices for managing surgical services: the role of coordination
Article Abstract:
Evidence suggests that patient outcomes are indicative of the level of coordination among surgical staff which include doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists and other professionals. A study revealed that low outliers, patients with low mortality and morbidity ratios, were given quality care stemming from the high level of interaction among the surgical staff. High outliers, however, suffered from poor medical care because of the low level of interaction among the staff.
