Rising deficits threaten industry growth
Article Abstract:
Increase in the government budget deficits both in the United States and abroad may ultimately result in industrywide pricing pressure. Fiscal 2004 budget gaps are at record levels and could exceed $100 billion in aggregate and demographic trends and rising healthcare costs may ultimately force the government to attempt to shift a large portion of the program's expense to beneficiaries or private entities.
