The view from here: provide Medicaid to evacuees
Article Abstract:
The different health measures that need to be extended to individuals, affected due to hurricanes Katrina and Rita by the different states and the federal government, are outlined. One main issue in this regard, is providing healthcare to those who have either lost their jobs, or for those who have lost health insurance, as they have been evacuated to other states. For this purpose, senators Charles Grassley (R- Iowa), and Max Baucus (R-Montana), have passed a legislation, which allows the above provision to individuals for five months.
