A holistic approach to pressure area care
Article Abstract:
Holistic care can be used in the treatment of pressure sores by examining an individuals whole lifestyle in relation to the risk of developing and then treating pressure sores. Patients can develop pressure sores which fail to respond to management techniques unless close attention is paid to nutrition, hygiene and general mental state, which can play an important part in patient recovery. Nurses need to assess not only the pressure sore but the health factors involved in treating patients.
