A prescription for disaster
Article Abstract:
Action needs to be taken to stop over-prescription of antibiotics, which results in resistance by bacteria. There is a need for national guidelines, with a lot of publicity, for doctors, nurses and the public. The integrity of some antibiotics is dependent on a national campaign. Nurses play an important part in controlling infection and stopping it from spreading, and should become involved in making colleagues aware of the situation.

Spot the difference
Article Abstract:
There is concern that UK government plans for nurses' training could be a retrograde step, with student nurses being exploited and poor retention rates within the profession. According to the government a flexible, modern training system for nurses enabling people from a cross section of society is needed. The government believes in opportunities for part time training, but this could be difficult.
