Article Abstract:
The slew of proposed child-care programs that explore the issue from several angles is an affirmation that elected officials recognize that child care is among the most urgent concerns of women. Some of the more promising of these proposals involve child-care subsidies, better pay and education for child-care workers and the right of workers to take time off to care for their children.
