AMA has remedy for malaise of physicians
Article Abstract:
Reengineering is an important factor in helping the medical profession deal with the many changes that are occurring as a result of a managed care environment. The American Medical Assn (AMA) is working on a corporate reengineering project that will help that organization be more responsive to the needs of its members. The medical profession as a whole must reengineer itself in order to retain its valuable principles while improving efficiency. Every physician should take steps to help cure the profession of its anxiety and depression.

A physician delivers on medical liability reform
Article Abstract:
Obstetrician Maureen O'Regan practices in Virginia, where medical liability is limited by law, but she does not practice in nearby Washington, DC. Many obstetricians and gynecologists no longer deliver babies because of fear of unlimited liability. Regan cooperated with the American Medical Assn in newspaper advertising and radio broadcasts to influence Congress to limit physician's liability to the $250,000 cap on noneconomic damages already passed by some states.
