Absenteeism: urgent NHS intervention needed
Article Abstract:
Research based on 896 manufacturing companies shows that long-term absenteeism causes 70% of the total time lost from work. Over 83% of companies have rehabilitation programs but they feel that the services offered by the General Practitioners and the NHS is not sufficient.

The British Government is very serious about the safety of its people at their place of work. HSC Chairman Bill Calaghan announced that all employers should involve and consult their workers regarding their safety and health.
