Adiponectin acts in the brain to decrease body weight
Article Abstract:
The leptin, intracerebroventricular (i.c.v) administration of adiponectin (ADP) decreases body weight by stimulating energy expenditure. The effect of ADP treatment on glucose, lipids and body weight provides new insight in to pathogenesis along with treatment of obesity.

Benfotiamine blocks three major pathways of hyperglycemic damage and prevents experimental diabetic retinopathy
Article Abstract:
Research demonstrates that the lipid-soluble thiamine derivative benfotiamine inhibits three intermediary pathways and NF-kappaB activation in retinas of diabetic animals by activating transketolase. Furthermore, benfotiamine prevents experimental diabetic retinopathy.

The adipocyte-secreted protein Acrp30 enhances hepatic insulin action
Article Abstract:
Acrp30 is a potent insulin enhancer linking adipose tissue and whole-body glucose metabolism. In isolated hepatocytes, Acrp30 increases the ability of sub-physiological levels of insulin to suppress glucose production.
