Advancing urology care
Article Abstract:
A urology nurse specialist and nurse cystoscopist for Grampian NHS Trust not only performs cystoscopies and bladder instillations on patients with urinary tract symptoms, but takes it a step further by providing telephone follow-up counseling. Her role would include prostate-specific antigen screening and intravesical chemotherapy instillation, and to take on another theatre list and build up a comprehensive database of all procedures and follow-ups.
