Aetna breaks cycle of losses to post profits

The insurance company, Aetna Inc. has earned profits in ever quarter of 2002, after losing money in 2001 by battling through severe layoffs, hefty premium hikes and eliminating unwanted patients from its rolls. The profits is expected to continue during 2003, due to a new quality measurement and incentive program encouraging its primary care doctors to comply with standards of care.
