Aging, adiposity, and calorie restriction
Article Abstract:
A systematic review of the factors involved in the aging process is performed along with the effect of calorie restriction (with adequate nutritional intake) on disease risk, maximum life span, adiposity, obesity and life expectancy. It is observed that calorie restriction in adult men and women causes beneficial metabolic, hormonal and functional changes, but it is difficult to determine the precise amount of calorie intake associated with optimal health and maximum longevity in humans.
