Alcohol: The impact on nursing
Article Abstract:
Many nurses deal with the consequences of excessive alcohol consumption on a daily basis, talking to people about cutting down their alcohol consumption as part of an admission or health promotion consultation. Nurses have a key public health role in this area and there are fears that the new law of extended pub opening hours and 24-hour drinking in England and Wales could make their job more difficult since nurses and doctors continue to be undereducated about alcohol misuse.
