Amputation: the transition from hospital to home
Article Abstract:
Helping amputee patients make a successful return to their own homes from the hospital environment is an important part of a nurses role when dealing with amputation patients. Clients must be fully assessed by experts as to their suitability to return home and a full check of the house must be made to ensure it meets the requirements of a patient with a missing limb. Nurses can help such patients to overcome psychological and emotional difficulties associated with amputation.

Assertive outreach: a step backwards
